This 2,360 square foot house is designed and oriented to minimize its environmental impact while maximizing passive solar heating and ventilation. The first floor is fully accessible to people using wheelchairs. Low-tech features like natural daylight, roof overhangs that provide shade from summer sun, and well-insulated building materials combine with solar panels and a geothermal heat pump to create a net-zero energy home. (Unbuilt.)
